Bottle Share Playlist 15: Jacobo Pérez Lliso from La Quince Brewery

I think many of you can agree with me that La Quince Brewing Co. is one of the most beloved breweries in our beer scene. And also that the man who appears in the photo, in addition to brewing fantastic beers, is among the best we can find when talking about good people. Now we can check off something we’ve had on our to-do list since a long time: the great Jacobo Pérez Lliso, Co-Founder and Head Brewer of the wildest brewery, is the latest music selector for the "Bottle Share Playlist" series in C R A F T E D. It’s quite a delight.

The story of Madrid's La Quince Brewing began in 2013, and since then, they have added hundreds of beers to their curriculum. Their production model is itinerant, and as gipsy brewers they have brewed beer in more than forty breweries located in nine countries. From the most classic styles to the latest novelties, all their beers are synonymous with maximum quality and innovation. And pay attention to the designs, because as you know, many of the labels are the work of the Malaga illustrator Antonio Bravo!

It is important to remember that La Quince, along with other partners, is also the brewery behind two of the craft beer temples in our country: Brew Wild Pizza Bar (Madrid) and Brew Wild BCN (Barcelona). Authentic places of worship for lovers of good pizza and craft beer.

Jacobo was born in 1982 and grew up backstage thanks to his mother, Cristina Lliso, singer of the band Esclarecidos, and his father, Alfonso Pérez, founder of the record label GASA and discoverer of many great bands such as Duncan Dhu, Los Secretos, Extremoduro, Rosendo, Platero y tú, Los Rodríguez and Compay Segundo, among others. With this DNA, it is completely understandable that the "kid” has turned out to have so much art in him, and become such a big music lover.

Listening to Jacobo's selection of songs, one realizes that any genre is valid when it comes to listening to good music. In his playlist, the intense rock with psychedelic overtones of Steppenwolf (starting with “Born To Be Wild” is somewhat of a commitment statement), coexists comfortably with styles such as garage rock, ska and reggae. There is also room for jewels such as Los Rodríguez's “Sweet Condemnation”, Cuban musician Compay Segundo's “Chan Chan”, and even a trip to Mexico organized by The Coasters - and which will remind Tarantinians of the legendary dance scene at the gas station in Death Proof (2007) - All this and much more, including the hit "Arponera" by Esclarecidos as a bonus track. Thank you Jacobo!
