El Edén, también conocido como el Jardín del Edén, existe. Y está en Helsinki. O al menos eso pensé yo cuando asistí a la segunda edición del Craft Beer Garden Festival coorganizado por Korjaamo Culture Factory, la cervecera finlandesa CoolHead Brew y la tienda / bar Pien Shop & Bar durante el primer fin de semana de agosto.
La celebración del festival tuvo lugar durante tres días consecutivos, y contó con la presencia de un cartel de cerveceras invitadas, capitaneadas en algunos casos por los propios fundadores y maestros cerveceros, absolutamente brillante: Alefarm Brewing (DK), Barrier Brewing Co. (US), Brekeriet (SE), Brew By Numbers (UK), Brewski (SE), Cloudwater Brew Co (UK), CoolHead Brew (FI), ETKO Brewing (FI), Finback Brewery (US), FrauGruber Craft Brewing (DE), FUERST WIACEK (DE), Panimoyhtiö Tuju (FI), Peenjoogivabrik Nudist (EE), Olarin Panimo (FI), Stigbergets Bryggeri (SE), Superstition Meadery (US), Whiplash Beer (IE), Wizard Brewing (SE), Wylam Brewery (UK) y Zagovor Brewery (RU).
El espacio, dividido en una zona interior con DJ (Tram Hall) y una exterior con jardín (Korjaamo Summer Garden) en la que charlar y disfrutar más cómodamente de la oferta gastronómica del festival, se prestaba ideal para entregarse sin miramientos al escandaloso line-up cervezas pinchadas.
Las entradas al festival costaban 10 € (anticipadas) y 13 € (en la puerta), y el precio de cada consumición era de 4 € (= 1 ticket), lo cual equivalía a 15 CL de las cervezas nacionales o 10 CL de las internacionales. Atendiendo a la calidad de las mismas, y a los precios finlandeses, en mi opinión bastante razonable.
Para acabar, tan sólo me queda decir que disfruté de lo lindo en un festival que por sus características y la calidad que atesora, es un serio candidato a convertirse en un todo referente durante los próximos años. ¡Recordad bien su nombre y apuntadlo en vuestra agenda del año que viene!
Eden, also known as the Garden of Eden, exists. And it is in Helsinki. Or so I thought when I attended the second edition of the Craft Beer Garden Festival co-organized by Korjaamo Culture Factory, the Finnish brewery CoolHead Brew and the specialty shop / bar Pien Shop & Bar during the first weekend of August.
The celebration of the festival took place during three consecutive days, and was honored by the presence of an array of absolutely brilliant breweries, in some cases by the founders themselves and the brewers: Alefarm Brewing (DK), Barrier Brewing Co. (US ), Brekeriet (SE), Brew By Numbers (UK), Brewski (SE), Cloudwater Brew Co (UK), CoolHead Brew (FI), ETKO Brewing (FI), Finback Brewery (US), FrauGruber Craft Brewing (DE) , FUERST WIACEK (DE), Panimoyhtiö Tuju (FI), Peenjoogivabrik Nudist (EE), Olarin Panimo (FI), Stigbergets Bryggeri (SE), Superstition Meadery (US), Whiplash Beer (IE), Wizard Brewing (SE), Wylam Brewery (UK) and Zagovor Brewery (RU).
The space was divided into an interior area (Tram Hall) with a DJ and an exterior area with a garden (Korjaamo Summer Garden) perfect for chatting and in a comfortable manner enjoy the gastronomic offer of the festival. Both ideal to explore the magnificent line-up of beers.
Tickets to the festival cost € 10 (advance) and € 13 (at the door), and the price of each drink was € 4 (= 1 ticket), which amounted to 15 CL of national beers or 10 CL of international beers. Taking into account the quality of the beers and the Finnish prices, I consider this quite reasonable.
Finally, I can only say that I had a blast in a festival that in my opinion is a serious candidate to become a reference in the coming years. Take a mental note of this festival, and save the date for next year!
